Wondering how to best manage your social media accounts? Check out our do's and don'ts for social media management!

Anyone who's anyone knows that social media is essential for businesses these days. But what a lot of people don't realize is that there's a whole lot more to social media management than just posting pictures of your product and tagging your favorite brand. If you're not careful, you can quickly find yourself in hot water (no pun intended). To save you the trouble, we've compiled a list of dos and don'ts for social media management.

DO: Think before you post.

We can't stress this enough—think, think, think before you post anything on social media. Is this something you would be comfortable with your grandma seeing? If the answer is no, then it's probably best not to hit the Post button. Remember, once something is out there on the internet, it's there forever.

DON'T: Post in a vacuum.

Your social media platforms are not isolated from the rest of your marketing efforts. In fact, they should be very much integrated. Make sure your social media posts are in line with your overall branding strategy. Consistency is key!

DO: Speak to your audience.

When you're crafting your posts, always keep your target audience in mind. What are their pain points? What kind of language do they use? What kind of content are they looking for? Keep these questions top of mind, and you'll be sure to create posts that resonated with them.

DON'T: Overpost.

You want to make sure you're posting regularly enough to stay top of mind—but not so regularly that you become a nuisance. A good rule of thumb is to post 1-2 times per day on each platform. Any more than that, and you're risking being tuned out by your followers.

Follow these simple guidelines, and you'll be well on your way to social media management success!

Social media management can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be! By following these simple dos and don'ts, you'll be well on your way to becoming a pro. Just remember to think before you post, integrate your efforts with the rest of your marketing strategy, speak to your audience, and avoid overposting. Do those things, and you'll be golden!
